Längmuurspielplatz

Along the banks of the Aare we have reached the penultimate location of our walk. But isn't trying things out and playing rather the beginning of sustainable development?

The Längmuur playground is an adventure playground in the heart of the city of Bern. Here children can pump water, borrow ride-on toys, climb, swing, slide and much more. It is one of the supervised playgrounds run by the umbrella organisation for open work with children in the city of Bern (DOK).

The focus is on the physical, mental and social development of the children, non-formal learning in a playful, diverse environment. The children decide for themselves how to participate. They get involved and help shape their world.

The umbrella organisation is not only involved here with this playground, but also in the neighbourhood. It is part of a network that promotes social cohesion and thus helps to create attractive neighbourhoods.
