Matomo

This website uses Matomo, an open source and self-hosted software, to collect anonymous usage data for this website.

The data on visitor behaviour is collected to find out about any problems such as pages not found, search engine problems or unpopular pages. Once the data (number of visitors who see error pages or only a white page, etc.) is stored, Matomo generates reports for us website operators to react to (e.g. by means of layout changes, new content, etc.).

Matomo processes the following data:

  • Cookies
  • Anonymised IP addresses by removing the last 2 bytes (i.e. 198.51.0.0 instead of 198.51.100.54)
  • Pseudo-anonymised location (based on the anonymised IP address)
  • Date and time
  • Title of the accessed page
  • URL of the page accessed
  • URL of the previous page (if allowed)
  • Screen resolution
  • Local time
  • Files that were clicked on and downloaded
  • External links that were clicked on
  • Duration of page load
  • Country, region, city of access (with low accuracy due to IP address)
  • Main language of the browser
  • User agent of the browser
  • Interactions with forms (but not their content)

Server Logs

When you use this website, the call is recorded by the host of the website (sdg-walk.ch). This log contains your IP address, which indirectly identifies you via your internet provider. The recording of this data is mandatory by law and necessary for security. There is no possibility to opt-out, but the data will never be used for other purposes.

This website uses fonts from Google Fonts, which are loaded by Google servers when the page is accessed. You can find more information on data protection inGoogles's FAQs .

Information on the use of maps with the help of "OpenStreetMap" and "Leaflet

All maps on this website are displayed using the JavaScript library "Leaflet" (Leaflets.com - "an open-source JavaScript library for mobile-friendly interactive maps") by Vladimir Agafonkin and map material from OpenStreetMap contributors. The map data is available under the Open Database licence and the cartography is licensed according to CC BY-SA. Further information on the licences can be found at https://github.com/Leaflet/Leaflet/blob/master/LICENSE and https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright.

For the interactive display and usability of the maps, it is technically necessary to exchange data with the servers maps.wikimedia.org (for map sections) and unpkg.com

(for loading the leaflet files). Through this exchange, it would in principle be possible for information about your website visit (including your IP address) to be transmitted to the aforementioned servers and stored there.

Personal data is not exchanged with the Leaflet service. Due to the execution of the Leaflet JavaScript library directly in your browser ("client-side" execution), no data on the map sections called up are stored on the sdg-walk.ch server. The Leaflet library is temporarily stored in the memory of your browser software (in the "browser cache").

You have the option of deactivating Leaflet's services and thus preventing the transfer of data to third parties by deactivating JavaScript in your browser. Please note that in this case the maps on the sdg-walk website cannot be used.
