Libraries are true champions when it comes to sustainability: sharing instead of owning has always been the motto here. They provide access to information in newspapers, magazines, reference books or on the internet. And in different languages. They offer a free place to rest, read or study when there is not enough space at home.

But libraries are not always quiet and still. They organise events, debates and exchanges. Formats such as the "living libraries" enable a look into alternative biographies and life stories and promote an understanding of diversity. The Kornhaus Library is also participating in the European Sustainability Week.

Libraries in Switzerland have set out to work together to raise awareness of the SDGs and have launched the Biblio2030 campaign. There is a table with information on the SDGs in the Kornhaus library. Do you have time? Then go up and check it out! Or take some time soon to immerse yourself in other worlds in a library for free.
