Wyss Academy for Nature

Switzerland - Kenya - Laos - Peru. Behind this showcase are gateways to four countries. The Wyss Academy for Nature at the University of Bern was founded in 2020 with the aim of strengthening and harmonising the protection of biodiversity, human well-being and the sustainable use of natural resources worldwide.

Here, research, business, politics and the local population are to come together to jointly design solutions for a sustainable future. With regional hubs on four continents, the Wyss Academy aims to develop innovative ways to seek and find solutions in different landscapes. Together with different actors, local problems are addressed. At the same time, the global context always remains present through the network.  What works well in one place should also benefit other regions: Implementable solutions are transferred from the small to the large, from the local level to the regional and national level.  And made known throughout the entire international network.
