Stiftsgarten

From here, from the cathedral platform, we have a good view down to the Stiftsgarten. Here, in the centre of the city of Bern, a green oasis is cultivated for organic gardening, encounter, sustainable education and inclusion.

In the Stiftsgarten, biodiversity is at the centre: old varieties are grown, propagated, processed and sold. Resilient agriculture that can adapt to climate change needs a great diversity of species.

Information and educational events directly in the garden raise public awareness of sustainable living.

The garden is run by a small, professional team and worked on by numerous volunteers. Working in the garden gives people from all over the world a meaningful and grounding occupation and daily structure.
